  3. Annmarie inspires me because she is a true friend, her best friend is in danger and Annmarie puts herself on the line for Ellen. That must tell Ellen that Annmarie would do anything for her. I Think that was very Inspirational of Annmarie to risk her own life for her best friend,Ellen.

  10. I think Annemarie inspires me because when Ellen her best fried who was Jewish was sleeping over for safety reasons she helped get Ellen's Star of David necklace off of her neck when she Heard the Nazi come into her room. Annemarie held it tightly in her hand until the Nazi left her apartment, she held it so hard that when she let go of it a Star of David imprint was on the palm of her hand. Annemarie inspires me the most in Counting the Stars.

  11. There are 2 people who inspire me. One is King Christian (even though he is not that big in the book), because he looks over his people with care, and everybody loves him. He is so brave over the Nazis! Another is the teenage boy who told the German soldier that all of Denmark is King Christian's body guard. That boy told him so proudly, and he was brave to do that!

  12. Two people inspire me. One is Annemarie because she is a loyal friend and is very motherly and protecting to Ellen. Also this might sound a little silly but Kirsti inspires me because she is not afraid to share her thoughts or opinions and even though the world isn't so great right now she still thinks of happy things.

  16. These are really good examples of inspiring people from Number the Stars! Someone that inspires me is Mrs. Johansen because she risks her life to help the Rosens escape from the Nazis. She always tries to be positive, even when everything around them is going wrong. Peter also inspires me, because he tends to be a leader to the Johansens, and is very brave sharing news with them about the war.
