I think he used to be a bad guy, but really, on the inside, he was a good guy. He started a rumor that was actually true that saved many Jews, and if the Nazis tracked him down and found that he had started the whole thing, he could be killed. It's amazing how many people risked their live to save Jews.
ReplyDeleteSome people feel that their own life means nothing compared to the lives of thousands, and so they risk everything to help save lives. G.F. Duckwitz seemed to be one of those people. He risked his life to help warn the Jews. If the Germans had found out that Duckwitz had done that, they would have killed him. Duckwitz didn't care, and so he saved almost 90% of Denmark's Jews.

ReplyDeleteI think that Duckwitz seemed to be a bad guy but really he was good.Most people would be to scared to help the Jews but, not Duckwitz.He risked his life for the Jews and he did it knowing if he got caught he would be killed.I think that just makes it a lot harder.
ReplyDeleteG.F Duckwitz was a Nazi but he helped the Jews. In 1943, the Nazis organized a deportation of the Danish Jews and Duckwitz tried to help but he failed so he arranged a sanctuary for the Jews. Of the 7,500 Jews in Denmark only 500 were caught. He is a hero.
ReplyDeleteG.F Duckwitz was with Germany but that doesn't mean he's bad he told the Jewish they were going to be abushed most Jews survived if any German soldiers found out about that he could be killed.

I'm in the middle of him being a hero because he joined the Germans but he helped the Jews, so I don't know if he is a hero or not.
ReplyDeleteI think that G.F. Duckwitz was a hero because he risked his life to save the Danish Jews. He even betrayed his own government to Jews. Duckwitz knew that if he was caught he would be in more trouble for betraying his government.

ReplyDeleteEven though Duckwitz did a bad thing, people gave him a 2nd chance. He put his life in danger for other people life's. He turned good and is a big hero in history
ReplyDeleteDuckwitz joined the Germans and did some pretty bad things even so he betrayed the nazi government and warned the jews of an up coming attack on them .He saved thousands of Jews. If he was caught he would be sent to a concentration camp.Anyone with that courage should be a hero.

ReplyDeleteI think G.F. Duckwitz is a good guy but other people might think he is a bad guy. He is a Nazi, so that might make people think he is a bad guy. He warned the Jewish religion about the Nazis. He helped and saved 90% of the Jewish religion. G.F. Duckwitz knew that if the Nazis figured out that he was helping the Jewish religion the Nazis would track him down and once they found him they would kill him. He didn't care! I think G.F. Duckwitz is a hero.

ReplyDeleteI think G. K. Duckwitz was a hero because he risked his life and disobeyed his government just to help the Jews escape by telling them that the Germans were coming and helped the Jews escape to Sweden. He helped 7000 people escape to Sweden and only 500 people did not escape.
ReplyDeleteI think that G.F. Duckwitz was a good man when he was with the nazis because he tried to stop them from gathering the jews, but then I think he became a hero when he told Sweden and Denmark.
ReplyDeleteI think that G.F. Duckwitz is a hero. He did start as a Nazi at first but I don't think he knew how far it would go. So he helped the Danish Jews when it became a really bad time.
ReplyDeleteDuckwitz was a hero, BUT, at first, he was a part of the Nazi party during the Denmark occupation. He wasn't a hero at first, because he was on the other team. But later, he helped the Jews escape, and became a hero. Lots of Jews escaped out of Denmark with their lives.

Duckwitz because he was a NNazi but he was actually a good man.as soon as he knew about the Jewish relocation he tried to stop it , none of his plans worked so he inted to theJewish rabbi that they were being relocated. With this hint G.F. Duckwitz saved thousands of lives.

ReplyDeleteI think that G.F. Duckwitz is a hero because a guy in the German army was replace by another guy and that guy told Duckwitz that he was going to move the Jewish people to a new place. Duckwitz told the Jews the information and that they should hide in someone's house so they weren't captured by the German soldiers.
ReplyDeleteI think G.F. Duckwitz is a good person. If he didn't tell the Jews that the army was coming for them, they would have died. It was dangerous for him because he had joined the Nazis and told secret information to the Jews.
