After watching these videos you should have a good idea about how Number the Stars will end. There was a very real problem with the escape method the Danes were using. Some of the escaping Jews were caught on the boats by the Nazi soldiers. Therefore, the people of the Danish Resistance had to develop a way to keep the Nazis from finding the refugees on the fishing boats. What ideas do you have that would've helped the Jews escape detection on the fishing boats?
They could hide themselves away from the soldiers by like purposly telling the soldiers that your going to a place like the mountains when you really are going to the dock to be driven by boat to Sweeden. Another way would be getting a boat that you do not care about put a brick on the pedal so it goes and when you do that get other people onto another boat so the Nazis follow the dud boats while you safely drive to Sweeden.

ReplyDeleteIt might not smell good but they could have been covered up with fish or fishing materials so the Nazis could think that the people sailing the bout were just normal fisherman that caught a lot of fish. Or if they were not aloud to fish at night they could cover them with a blanket.
ReplyDeleteIn Number the Stars, they used secret code a lot! If the Nazis find you, you could use secret code and say your going somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteP.S.. I think it's AMAZING that one guy organized everything to help the Danish Jews. If it weren't for him, many peole wouldn't be alive today.

DeleteThey could have pretended that they were going fishing or someone else could have pretended to go fishing and had a sack of "fish" and take it across to Sweden.

ReplyDeleteSince in Number the Stars they use many different types of codes, they could use one of their codes to try to trick them by going somewhere else. It´s EXTREMELY cool where only one guy saved about 7000 people.

ReplyDeleteIn the book Number the stars they were using secret codes maybe people could have used their secret codes to escape. I also think that the Jews could've dressed like they were going fishing these are my thaughts.
ReplyDeleteThey could use secret codes. The could have all so carried fishing rods and bait so it looked like they were fishing when they were going across the ocean. If their was a place to hide, I think they should have hid the kids because it would be really early in the morning if it was dark because kids most likely won´t be fishing on a boat at 4 in the morning.
