  1. Kristi, Annmarie had very different reactions. Annmarie was very polite and did not want to be rude to the German soldiers. Annmarie was also kinda of scared but she made sure she didn't show it. Kristi on the other hand, was rude to the German soldiers and didn't care if she was . She wan't scared at all. When the German soldier came up to touch her hair she screamed at them and hit them on the hand. This shows how different these people are and how their reactions are different too.

  32. Kristi's and Annemarie's reactions were very different.
Kristi's reaction was pretty sassy, as normal. While Annemarie's was frightened by the soldiers. Kristi's reaction was not as scared as Annemarie's because she was used to the soldiers on the streets. For more than half of her life, the soldiers have been there. Annemarie is ten, and the soldiers have been their for three years. So, she is not used to it. The people of Denmark love and respect their king very much. Since King Christian 10 goes around the streets of Coopenhagen without a body guard, The Danes say they are the ones protecting him. Also, they say they'd die for him.

  42. 1. Annemarie was more timid and scared around the soldiers. But Kirsti wasn't scared of the soldiers and boldly stood up for herself.
    2. This is because Annemarie has heard and seen the things the soldiers have done unlike bold little Kristi who has a few ideas of those things but hasn't comprehended them quite as well.
    3. The people of Denmark are protective of their king and are his "body gaurds." I know this because Annemarie's parents said so in the story.

  43. 1. Anne Marie was more scared of the soldiers where as Kirsti boldly stood up for herself because she is not in the least bit scared.

2.This is because Anne Marie knows the dangers of the soldiers and what they have done to people and how cruel they are. Where as Kirsty is just a little girl and doesn't have any idea as to what is going on.

    3. I can tell that the people really love their king and that they are in a sense his "body guard". I know this because in the story that's what Anne Marie's dad said.
