If you were Simon's brother or sister, you would, of course, be devastated by the events that unfolded in the story. Would you, however, accept the fact that Amos did not receive a consequence for his actions?
Do you believe that Amos did not have any consequences? Explain.
I would be okay with it because it was an accident, but inside I might be a little hurt. Amos did not get any physical consequences but he did have MANY mental consequences. He is always depressed and feels very sad inside. I would feel very bad for him because he always has the sad feeling dragging him down.

DeleteIF I was Simons sister I would be realy realy mad at Amos but,it was an accident.Over all,I think he shouldn't have any concequenes because,he already lost his best friend and he is always so depresed.
ReplyDeleteI don't really agree. I'd probably think he deserved it. Not to be mean, but if someone you know just shot your brother or sister, how would you feel?

ReplyDeleteWhen I look at other people's situation, like Amos'and Simon's, I wonder why Simon wouldn't hate Amos. But, then when I put myself in that situation, I realize how Simon really felt - bad for Amos. If that happened with my best friend and me, I'd feel really, really bad in both situations.
ReplyDeleteI think Amos should have gotten punished a little bit because he shot his best friend, but only a little bit because he already was depresed and had trouble getting over it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting comparison here: Thinking back to the Tale of Despereaux and the act of "perfidy" that Lester and Furlough committed... Did Despereaux punish them? Or was there no need for it? Are these two situations (Amos's and Lester's consequences) similar?
ReplyDeleteI would be so sad if my brother got shot in the stomach by a pistol by his best friend. I would cry every time i would think of him.
ReplyDeleteIf I was Simon's sister I would feel that Amos did get a consequence since he is having trouble forgetting the moment he shot Simon. However, I still would be devastated about Amos shooting Simon because after all we are still family.
