I think the picture shows that all the chicken peeps are the other mice and the rabbit peep is showing how different Despereaux is then the other mice.
All the peeps remind me of the mice because they all do the same thing and follow the same rules and the bunny is Despereaux because he does things differently than all the other mice and does not follow all the same rules.
I think the chicken peeps are the mouse council,Depereauxs family, and the rest of the mice. I think the rabbit peep shows how Despereaux is different from the other mice.
All the other peeps are in perfect line and the bunny A.K.A Desperaux looks like he is off in another land dreaming, while the others are laser focused. Like Desperaux is always mesmerized by the light and dreaming about princess pea. Desperaux is amongst many mice, but very, very, VERY unique!
I totally agree with what you say about Desperaux. In the picture I know what you mean about him and the marshmallow. If we were all mice, I wouldn't want to be Desperaux at this point in the book. Standing at the foot of the king and letting the princess see and touch his big ears, for his size that would be crazy! If I was Desperaux, I would only be one thing, TERRIFIED! Adios, Amigo

The relation I see of despereaux and this picture is that there is only one bunny out of the birds and this makes him diffrent and desperaoux is diffrent to so this makes them alike.
