I think trumpeter swans are endangered because of lead poisoning, swans swallow pellets found in soil where shooting activities have occurred. Also, even though shooting a trumpeter swan is illegal people still shoot trumpeter swans.
I really liked the video! I was shocked at how many trumpeter swans go to Ontario from October,November to the end of March. They have weigh 25 to 35 pounds and have a 7 and a half to an 8 foot wing span. I think trumpeter swans are very interesting animals.
Julia, Nicole is right about the lead poisoning, but another reason is hunting. While it is illegal to shoot trumpeter swans, people still unfortunately do it.
It's amazing how many Ttumpeter Swans go there!
ReplyDeleteZenon, I hope you're feeling better soon.
