Do you agree or disagree with what Peter did to Rachel on pages 89 and 90? Please explain your point of view clearly.
What text to text comparison came to mind after reading chapter 11?
This article about Denmark's resistance brings up a different perspective that we haven't talked about yet.
Click the link above. Feel free to write your thoughts on the article in the comment box.
I disagree with what Peter did because Rachel's mama told Peter that she only sleeps and never cries, so she wouldn't be a problem. Peter didn't have to give her the sleeping pills for the trip.
ReplyDeleteI thought of Joseph because Joseph was supposed to leave, with the slaves, a couple minutes later than Mr.Byers to not cause commotion. Inge was supposed to leave with the Rosens a couple minutes later when Peter gave the signal. That is the text-to-text relation I made.
Good Job!
Deletewow! good job
DeleteThank you!
Delete:)
DeleteOMG this is FABULOUS!!!!!!
DeleteI do agree because she could have gotten everyone in a lot of trouble. It is not good to give someone medecine that strong that young but they had to because if she cried she would have put everyone in jeaprody.
ReplyDeleteI like your response. I'm starting to change my mind.
DeleteI think that, in the situation, it is acceptable what he did. I do know, however, that Peter is a good leader and would know what to do.
ReplyDeleteTo whom it may concern, this comment is short because I posted another one but it somehow wasn't published.
DeleteNice
DeleteI think Joseph because he was helping slaves escape just like the Johansens were helping Jews escape. Also they had to be quiet and go at different times so they wouldn't be noticed just like Number the Stars.
ReplyDeleteGood Iris!
DeleteI agree with what Peter did because if the baby had never been on a boat before and it
ReplyDeletefeels weird to her she will probably wake up and start crying. I would not take my chances with that.
I think of Joseph because he was suppose to leave after Mr.Byers with the slaves. Inge was suppose to leave after Peter.
I agree with Peter because it was like a sleep medicine liquid and if Rachel woke up during the trip, and Nazis could here crying, they would get caught. Always think about the future. Even if Rachel's parents were right, he should do it just to make sure.
ReplyDeleteGood job Max
Deletegood job max
DeleteAs one character once told us... "Being right doesn't always make you popular." Sometimes hard decisions have to be made for the good of the community, rather than an individual.
DeleteI agree because the baby could have gotten sea sick or was too uncomfortable and you could get in a lot of trouble.
ReplyDeleteI thought of the book Joseph because the slave hunter gave Hannah the sleep medicine and Peter gave the baby the same kind of medicine that Hannah had.
Good!!
Deletegood JOB LIZZIE!
Deleteso sorry all caps. bur great job
Deletethanks
DeleteGreat Job, Lizzie! The response makes a lot of sense.
DeleteI agree with what Peter did. If the baby were to cry it would put everyone in danger. The Nazis would surely be suspicious if they heard crying in the middle of the night, out in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteIt reminded me of Joseph when him and Mr. Byers worked together because Peter, Inge, and Henrick are working together.
Nice job Livia!
DeleteThanks!
DeleteQuestion 1: I do agree with Peter because even though Rachel's mom said that Rachel would be fine without the sleeping pills, there still is a chance that the baby probably never has been in a situation like that before and probably would have cried.
ReplyDeleteQuestion 2: I think this part of the story reminds me of when Joseph and Mr. Byers worked together to get the slaves to safety. Mrs. Johanson and Peter worked together to get the Jews to the boat so they could get to Sweden.
Good work Jack!
DeleteI agree with both of your answers, Jack! Nice work.

ReplyDeleteI disagree because peter wanted all of clothes to him self question 2 what was going in my mind after reading chapter 11 that they would be in a dangrous journey to get to Henriks boat and they would have to be seperated and take different paths and it was hard because the paths where not even and they may not see there family again

DeleteAidan, Please reread the part of chapter 11 with Peter and the baby.
DeleteText to Text means... Was there anything in chapter 11 that reminded you of another story we've (you've) read before?
I don't agree because its not good to give someone that young to have pills. But peter did it anyway even though she sleeps well and never cries
ReplyDeleteI agree with Peter because if the baby cried and the nazi's herd then they would go and look for them and they would be caught and not just the baby everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly came in mind when I read the end of chapter 11 because it the story butterfly they use a train to save the jewish refuges and in number the stars they also use a form of transportation to save them they use a boat.
Go Henry!
DeleteI would compare chapter 11 to the part in Joseph where Joseph has to bring the slaves to the cave. I also would compare it to this fact: The Polish people would, by secret, put holes in the walls of the ghettos and would transport weapons, food, and, sometimes, people through.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing he did was good, because the baby could get cold and start to sneeze while the Nazis were close by, if she did it would be like oh my gosh who's there? And they would get caught. The other thing he did to the baby i do agree with, it would make her not cry and sleep through out the whole thing, and when she would get older, she would think that she was born in Sweeden.
ReplyDeleteThe text to text i noticed was in Number the stars and Joseph because Joseph's family and Annemarie's family was helping people get to freedom and away from mean guys(Nazis and Slavecatcher's) Also, they both have to be very secretive when somebody brings up the topic "Are you helping Slaves/Jews?" they have to lie.
Wow! Great Job
DeleteWow! Kelly that's wonderful!
Deletethank you!
DeleteAwesome! Great Job
DeleteYes I know second reply.
Great job, Kelly!
DeleteAwesome job Kelly you get a gold ribbon for best literacy award! :]
Deletenice job Ethan you are improving!
ReplyDelete1 : I agree with Peter because a baby could cry at any time no matter what the situation so giving the baby the medicine would cause a better chance of the Rosens not being caught on the boat to Sweden.
ReplyDelete2 : To me "Joseph" is the text to text comparison because in Joseph, Joseph helps slaves run away like Annemarie helps the Rosens escape to Sweden.
Good work Peter! ;)
DeleteI beleive agree with Peter about what he did to Rachel. I think it was a good Idea because if Rachel could possibly wake up and scream then all the German soldiers would her them and they could possbly get caputured. If they were captured they would be sent to a concentration camp where the baby would most likely die.
ReplyDeleteChapter 11 reminds me of a book called Jake Ransom. In the book his parents go to an ecavation sight and they find a golden locket the parents die trying to save the Locket and the locket gets shipped to the children.
I think peter did it on purpose so if the baby would wail (cry) out loud which would cause a lot of attention even though the mother said she wasn't a problem with crying.
ReplyDeleteI felt this article felt strong and very detailed, I liked how much trivial information it gave out.
I have one question: what do you mean about "Trivial Information?"
DeleteI agree with Kelly.
DeleteWhere is your answer to number 2
DeleteI mean information that would be able to be in like a trivia contest
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete1). I agree with Peter because the group is safer without taking a chance of Rachel crying and giving everyone away. Even though her mama said she will be quiet, she could cause danger to many people.
ReplyDelete2). I thought of Joseph 1861 because Mr. Byers and Joseph had signals to help the slaves escape, and so did Peter, and Mrs. Johansen (but with Jews).
Good job Helen! :D
Delete:)
DeleteGreat job! ;)
DeleteGood Job!!
DeleteBest job ever!
DeleteIt reminded me of Mr.Byers and Joseph worked together just like Mrs.Johanson and Peter worked together.
ReplyDelete1. I agree with what Peter did. This is because if the baby were to start crying then they all could be caught. Peter knew it wasn't worth the risk of not using the liquid because not using it could put them all in danger.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to finish the rest later. I need to think about number 2 more.
DeleteOk. I wonder how no. 2 is going to turn out.
DeleteI feel bad at the sight of the numbers of Danes killed in World War II. I am glad that the police resisted against the German army until the Danish government stepped down. Also, Denmark saved the most Jews in their country than anywhere else. That makes me happy. When the Nazi soldiers sent out word asking for the Jewish people, I like how many people then helped the Jews get to Sweden by train or boat. The sign that said closed due to happiness makes feel good that they were celebrating their freedom from the Germans.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's just so sad that people can be so cruel and make such terrible judgments about people.
DeleteIt is really sad but it is good that they stood up for themselves and resisted the Germans.
DeleteGreat friend!
DeleteThanks!
DeleteI agree with Peter for giving the baby a drink. She may not have another chance to have a drink for days.
ReplyDelete:| a drink sounds not very school appropriate unless you mean the water he gave the baby.
DeleteI think it was a sleep medicine
DeleteI think it was sleeping medecine
DeleteI wasn't water, Brody.
Delete2) I think that maybe the story was like Joseph because it is like when they are trying to help the slave escape they need to be brave and do whatever they have to for the slave or Ellen to give them freedom and what they need to keep there journey or whatever to get freedom.
ReplyDeletenice job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delete( About the Article ) I think that it's a miracle that the Danish Jews survived that long before Germany got interested.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Peter for giving the baby a drink. She may not have another chance to have a drink for days.
ReplyDeleteI think it was sleeping medicine Darren
DeleteJack is right, Darren. Why would Peter give the baby water, and why would the mother protest by saying it wouldn't cry? Think before you speak.
DeleteI think so too.
Deleteme to
Deletesleeping pills
DeleteI agree peter had to give the baby medicen they could have ben in very great danger if a nazie soldir found that they were helping the jews.
ReplyDelete2.The Iron Trial at one point they had to keep quiet and evoid a createre.
Nice work Alex!
DeleteRemember proper Spelling! :):):):)
DeleteReely Ethan? Reely? :):)
Deletewhat
DeleteWhat! I'm just promoting good habits!!
DeleteI agree with Peter because if the baby wakes up crying, then the Nazis could find the family and Henrik.
ReplyDeleteThis situation reminded me of Joseph and his step-dad because they are risking their lives for the lives of others.
I think it is sad how many Danish people died during the war. It is good that they cooperated with the Germans for a while. Also I think it is great how everyone stood up to the Germans and resisted the occupation and what the Germans were doing to them.
ReplyDeleteChapter 11 reminded me of when Sevrine leaves them.
ReplyDeleteThat is incredibly brief and vague, Darren.
Delete1: I think I agree with Peter. Even though the mother claimed she sleeps all night, I wouldn't take the chance either. It was a very dangerous escape, and for the baby to wake up in the middle of the risky trip and start crying, would mean punishment for everyone. I can also understand why the mother didn't want Peter to do it. Even if she didn't want Peter to do it, I still think it was the right thing to do. Not doing it wasn't worth the risk.
ReplyDelete2: When I read chapter 11 I instantly thought of the book, "The Butterfly". I thought of this particular book because they too, were helping Jews escape. Not only were they helping Jews, they were both helping them in the same way, same time, and planned to send them to the same place. There were also people working for the resistance in both books. It may not have been clarified that Peter was working for the resistance, but it is quite obvious that he is.
3: The article is different from what we have learned about because it mentions things like Danish saboteurs and a lot more about the Danish resistance. When it describes the Nazis taking the country over, it talks more about people trying to save the Jews and take them to Sweden rather than more of learning about what Hitler and Germany did to them and what the consequences were. The article is overall more about who was trying to save instead of who was trying to punish.
GREAT Job, Samantha! :):):):):)
DeleteGreat Job!
Delete1.I agree with peter because if the baby does cry the Nazis will find how and were they are delivering the Jews.
ReplyDelete2.It reminds me about Joseph because Joseph and Mr.Byers helped the slaves get away and Mrs.Johanson and Peter helped the slaves get to the boat.
Answer 1: I agree with Peter because if Rachel cried she would have put everyone in danger.Even if what Rachel's mama said was true.
ReplyDeleteAnswer 2:I thought of the book Joseph when Joseph and Mr.Byers worked together to help the slaves escape and when Mrs.Johansen and Peyer helped the Jews escape.
I both agree and disagree.
ReplyDeleteBecause when Peter whent to the baby the parents didn't seem to thrilled, actually they were very depressed because of it because either theuy don't trust in today's medicine, or it was poison. I think it was poison because he said he wouldn't feel any pain and it would make him sleep better. But then again you gotta do what you gotta do to survive espaically in Hitler times .[ WW2 ]
2. I thought of the Butterfly when I read that chapter.
Because in that story the main character's mother was lost trying to help a Jewish refugee escape from the Nazi's. Both girls were scared because they thought they lost their mother forever but they eventually saw their mother and were happy.
Good Job Aidan!
DeleteGreat Job!! :):):):)
DeleteI think the text to text comparison is with Joseph 1861 A Rumble of War, because the characters are both helping refugees to find freedom and peace.
ReplyDelete1. I do agree with peters decicion on making the baby sleep, because if she cried, it would alert the Nazis of their presnce.
ReplyDelete@
2. I did not have any comparisons to other text, sorry
sorry about the @, i meant to delete that.
DeleteLol
Delete1) I agree with peter and giving the baby the sleeping pill encase if the baby wakes up and screams or yells and the Nazis/Germans her or see the baby they could possibly send the people to jail or maybe the death penalty. If peter didn't give the baby the sleeping pills it could possibly sleep better encase the pill messes with the baby's stomach or throat.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if my 1st one posted so I did it again if you see my 1st one can you tell me thank you.

About the article: It is s cool that the Danish Jews survived that long before the Nazis got interested
ReplyDeleteArticle is very informational and I learned somethings that I didn't know Like about how they sabotached trains working for the Germans and other things.

ReplyDeleteVery through answers Daniel. Keep it up!
ReplyDelete(about the article) Overall, I think it is amazing how many Danes died and how many fought back. That sums it all up, if I do believe.
ReplyDeleteA1: I think Peter was right because the family was going to be in a secret compartment in a boat where they would be rocking out at see. So the baby would probably awake.
ReplyDeleteA2: I think that chap. 11 was a lot like when Joseph and Mr. Byers helped the slaves escape.
I think that Peter did the right thing because even though Mama said "no. " " She only sleeps and not cries," the baby could wake up and start crying. You never know if the baby could wake up in the middle of the boat ride to sweeden and attrack attention. Peter gave her that for safety. If the baby woke up and started crying, the people on the boat would be in danger because people could hear the cry and it will attrack attention and they would get caught and not make it to sweeden.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete1. I do not agree because he is not a professional doctor and didn't get a degree in being a doctor so he could hurt the baby. If he gave the baby not enough then she will cry and they will get caught and too much equals possibly hurting the baby. So I think it is not safe for Peter to be doing this to baby Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Peter did because it was the for there protection. I mean I wouldn't want to take that chance of Rachel waking up and exposing them.
ReplyDelete1. I think that what Peter did was the right thing. If Rachel cried, the Nazi's could find them and kill them.
ReplyDelete2.Chapter 11 reminded me of Joseph when Mr.Byers and Joseph helped the slaves escape.
2. It was exactly like how Joseph and Mr. Byers helped protect and escape Lily and her sister to safety without them getting caught. And they had to be careful and take no chances.
ReplyDeleteHer sister was named Marium (I think that's how you spell it)
DeleteAnswer to Question 1: I think I agree with Peter. If Peter haven't given the baby the sleeping drug, then the baby might cry on the boat, drawing attention. If that were to happen, the Jewish Danes on that boat would be in great danger. The Nazis could hear the crying, and start getting suspicious. If the Nazis heard the cry, they would get suspicious, and maybe go searching after the sound source. This wouldn't be good, because, as said before, the Jewish Danes would be in great danger, and could get hunted down by the Nazis, and arrested, and maybe even killed. If this happened, Peter might be heart-broken and believe he has not served the Jews a promise of saving them. This would be bad, because Peter would feel very bad, and no one wants to feel bad. So yes, I believe that is was right for Peter to give the sleeping drug to the little infant. Answer to Question 2: When I read chapter 11, I thought of "The Butterfly" by Patricia Polaco. In the story The Butterfly, a girl name Monique and her mother are helping a Jewish family that they are good friends with escape. In The Butterfly, Monique sees a figure on her bed. It was a girl, and she was Jewish. Monique's mother already new about the girl, who's name was Savrine. Savrine was desperately trying to run from the Nazis, like those Jewish Danes and Ellen and her family. Ellen and her family, the Jewish Danes, and Savrine and her family are running away from the Nazis. That is what reminds me of when I read chapter 11 in Number the Stars. -Lily Rizi
ReplyDeletewow never thought of that Lily nice job!!!!
Deletegreat job Lilly
DeleteGreat Job Lily!
Deletewow great job lily
DeleteHave you thought about any other text to text comparisons, Lily?
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteA1: I think what Peter did to the Baby was wrong and very cruel and I think that if someone tried to do that to me ohhhhhhhh boy there would be a bit of an agruament because no one wants to be put to sleep at all I mean at all.
ReplyDeleteA2:What text to text comparison happened was when Peter put Rachel to sleep and Scrogins trying to put Hannah sleep. The only difference about the two is Peter succeded and Scrogins didn't.
After I read chapter 11, I thought of Joseph a Rumble of War because it reminded me of when Joseph and his father helped to young girl slaves escape, take the underground railroad and go to Canada where it was safe. The Joahsens helped Ellen's family and some other refugees escape in a boat at night and go to Sweeden where it is safe. These two books are comparing the same situation.
ReplyDelete1. I disagree because Rachel's mother said she sleeps throughout the night and never cries but Peter still put the medicine/drugs in Rachel. Peter is not a doctor so he could of overdosed the baby and this could lead to Rachel being sick, hurt, or even dead.
ReplyDelete2.The text-to-text comparison was to Bales putting Hannah on sleeping medicine/drugs so he could take her to a slave auction and get money even though shes a free slave compared to Peter putting Rachel on the sleep medication/drugs which can kill or get Rachel very sick.
Your 2nd response is interesting. No one else has said that.
DeleteWhat Peter did reminded me of Joseph and what Scrogen did when he was taking Hannah and giving her the sleeping drug. I saying Peter giving her the sleeping drug is the same giving someone something and not being sure of how much to give.
ReplyDeleteI agree with peter because they could not take any risks. In chap 11 like when Joseph saved Hannah from the slave catchers.First It is in first person,it sounded like the germans were doing whatever they want.Hitler was not even interested in denmark.Guards are guarding stores,it did not seem like a good time to live in.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job!!
DeletePromblem 1. I agree because that he was only tring to keep the baby safe so nothing bad happens to it.Promblem 2.somthing bad was going to happen and that staff were not going to be goob.
ReplyDelete1. I think that peter did the right thing by giving the baby sleep medicine just in case the baby dose wake up when they are going there.2. I thin that the Number the stars is like Joseph because Joseph helped slaves escape and peter is helping Jewish refuges escape.
ReplyDeleteA1: I agree because the stuff that Peter gave to Rachel put Rachel to sleep. They don't want a crying baby while trying to flee because someone might get suspicious.
ReplyDelete1. I agree with Peter because if he did the do it they were taking a risk.
ReplyDelete2. Joseph when Scogins try to put someone to sleep like when Peter gave the water to the baby.
1.I don't agree because the baby was a sleep already so it is pointless and he is not a doctor so the mom did not agree with him 2. This reminded me about Joseph - 1861 a rumble of war because when balies and sroughen kidnapped Hanna they put her to sleep and samething with Rachel but instead of kidnapping her they put her asleep so they could get away with no crying
ReplyDeleteA1. I think that was a good idea of Peter. If the sea is kind of swaying a little bit. Even if Rachel did not cry it would be taking a risk if they got caught they would have to go to Jewish prisnor camps they could die. A2. It reminded me of when Joseph and Mr.Byers when they saved Lily and Maryom. In chapter 11 they helped save the Johsens and other Jews over to Switerland.
ReplyDeleteNice job Fiona
DeleteThe artical was very informative on what was going on while our book was taking place. By going on I ment outside of what we have learned about.
ReplyDelete1. I agree. because if the baby woke up they would most likely get captuered.
ReplyDelete2. Joseph and Mr. and Mrs. byers. because they were helping lily and marium escape to a free state where slavery was illigal.
good answer Sam!!!
Delete3. it was a very important time in history and gave great information about the danish residents when occupied by the Nazis.
Delete1. I think that its ok to have the Drug because its a matter of live and death you never know what the nazis will do to you
ReplyDelete2. Peter put rachel to sleep as Bails put Hannah to sleep
Question 1. I agree that peter gave the baby the sleeping drug because if it cried it mite draw attension to the Nazi soldiers.
ReplyDeleteQuestion 2. In Chapter 11 it compares to Joseph when MR.Buyers helps the slaves escape.
3. At the beginning I love how it says what the Denmark radio station said when the Germany 5 year Occupation was over for Denmark. It's cool how it explains the story again clearly about all that was happening then. They gave specific details in the article and even put on a picture to help me and all the other readers get a visualization of what was happening. The article helps me understand more about the Occupation of Denmark, Rising Resistance, and Liberation.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteYes I think that Peter did the right thing and if the baby started to cry then the would get caught by the solders. I think Josef came in mine because they are helping the Jewish refuges get away like Joesph helped the slaves get away. I liked the article a lot I learned a lot about Denmark.
ReplyDelete1. I agree with what Peter did because if the baby woke up she would most likely cry and everyone would be punished if the Nazis heard then.
ReplyDelete2. I think that when Peter gave the baby medicine it was like when Scrawgins gave Hannah sleeping medicine in the book Joseph.
3. I think it was unfair that so many Danish people were killed but I am amazed that the Resistance Fighters fought back even though the German army was much bigger than the Danish army.
Question #1: Well it's kind of both. I mean peter did have to make the baby not cry or scream, but then again what peter did was very scary.
ReplyDeleteQuestion #2: In chapter 11 I think it's simuilar to Joseph because bayls and scrogans put hannah to sleep and peter put Rachal to sleep.
Q1. I agree with Peter because if he did not give him that sleeping drug and the baby woke up she might start crying and that reminds me of Joseph because in Joseph Bales and Scrogens were giving Hannah that sleeping drug anyway I do agree with Peter.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Hannah being put to sleep!!!
DeleteThe artical was very informative on what was going on while our book was taking place. By going on I ment outside of what we have learned about.
ReplyDeleteI thought the article really showed me how happy Denmark was when they got their freedom and its like one of those stories where like it tells you the ending and then how it started and I thought it was very clear and very deatailed to me about the Nazi occupation and how it was run and that stuff.
ReplyDeleteNice Job!
Deletenice job!
DeleteI also think that it reminded me when they put Rachel to sleep, it was the same situation in Joseph 1861 A Rumble of War. When Scrawgins and Bales were going to put Hannah to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete3. I feel happy that Denmark got there land back from Germany and Germany wanted Denmark to be come part of the allied forces and a shop was closed because "closed due to happiness"
ReplyDeleteQuestion 3. The Article all the hard times the jews went through with the Nazi Soldiers trying to kill them.
ReplyDeletePeter did the right thing by putting two drops of Medicin in Rachels little mouth,, so she wouldn't cry when they go on the boat and then the Nazis could hear them and the could go to the boat and capture them.
ReplyDeleteAnswer to Question 3: I learned a lot about Denmark while reading the Denmark article. I learned things such as: when the Declaration of Freedom was announced on the radio of May 4th, 1945, people swormed into the streets holding up the Danish flag, Dannebro, burning down their blackout curtains. I learned other things too, such as Denmark was occupied by Germany on April 9, 1940. Another thing I learned is in March 1934 Denmark held elections for resistance against Germany. -Lily Rizi
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a great article about Denmark during world war 2.What the resistance fighters did and Montgomary. With blowing up trancportation and saving Jews it was so informitive.
ReplyDeleteThe article reminded me of the stories we read before "Number the Stars" because it talks about the Nazi's occupation of most of Europe
ReplyDeleteQuestion #3:I didn't know that the law of freedom was anounsed on may 4th 1945
ReplyDeleteQ1. I would agree to Peter. Even though it is risky I would rather be safe then sorry. Even though her mother claims she sleeps all night. It would be horrible for the baby to start crying then she would blow it for everyone. I do think it is just dreadful that even a little infant would be on the run herself. She could not defend herself. It would be just horrible to what they could do to Rachel if the Nazi's caught her!
ReplyDeleteQ.2 This also has a little of chapter 12. I had more then one text to text comparison. My first one was when Bales from Joseph- A Rumble of War, bought sleeping drugs and aplied it to Hanna, and Henry aplied the same thing to Rachel. My second text to text comparison was when Mrs.Johansen and Henry took the Jewish refugees to Uncle Henrick reminded me of when Mr. Byers and Joseph took Lily and Mariam to the woman in Cleveland. It also reminded me of when Amos, Clara and Jonathan were taking there voyage to Marrietta with Red Mocasin.
Q3. The article made me go something like this. Annoyed, Sad, Okay,Good, HAPPY. It start out with a real negative thought that Denmark was being ruled by Germany then on August 28 1943 it gained it's independence. It should be Denmark's Independence Day!
I agree, Marin. AMAZING job
DeleteA2: In chapter 11, it was like Joseph and Mr.Byers helping the two slaves escape Mariam and Lily. In chapter 11, they were all prepared to leave. They had clothes in the casket, blankets, and food. They all had a plan to what they were going to do. I Joseph, Joseph said that the 2 slaves were going to go on the Underground Railroad to get to Ohio. The Rosens traveled by boat to get to Sweeden were they would be safe from the soldiers because they were Jews.
ReplyDeleteI found in chapter five that during the time that Peter and Mrs.Johanson were bring the Jewish Refuges to UNcle Henricks boat to go to Sweden it was a lot like Joseph when Joseph and his father went on a journy to help Lilly and Mariume exape to freedom.
ReplyDeleteIn the article, I didn't like that Denmark was being taken over by Germany. It was unfair that many Danish people were being killed by Germany. People crowed the streets holding up the flag. Denmark had elections against Germany.
ReplyDelete
